Sara Milonovich & Greg Anderson
An exciting duo that combines the talents of two of contemporary music's most gifted musicians.

Sara is an award-winning fiddler, singer, and tunesmith who has been performing various roots, bluegrass, Celtic, and Appalachian music since she was 4 years old. She spent the past few years touring and recording with The Cathie Ryan Band, and previously played with NY Irish-newgrass band The McKrells. She has recorded with numerous artists, and both her fiddle and voice can be heard on the forthcoming Richard Shindell CD, "South of Delia."

Greg is a multi-instrumentalist who co-founded the acclaimed Celtic-fusion group Whirligig. Currently the guitarist with The Eileen Ivers Band, he has also performed and recorded with many diverse international artists, including Susan McKeown, The Klezmatics, Cathie Ryan, and Doctor Nerve, among others.

Playing a vibrant mix of contemporary and traditional songs and tunes from across the musical spectrum, Sara and Greg's music incorporates eclectic flavors from other countries and planets, as well as soulful compositions of their own. They have earned accolades for their fresh interpretations of music from many different genres, and for crisscrossing stylistic boundaries - combining a firm grounding in a wide range of folk forms with a rich palette of modern and world music influences.

Since joining forces in 2004, they have toured throughout the US and Europe. Their debut CD, "Forward In All Directions!," made the Top Ten in the Village Voice 'Pazz & Jop' Critics Poll for 2004.

About Greg Anderson

A multi-instrumentalist and producer from the musical melting pot of New York City, Greg Anderson has performed and recorded with a wide variety of international artists in an even wider variety of musical genres.

Currently the guitarist with Eileen Ivers & Immigrant Soul, he has been a mainstay in many folk, ethnic, and world music scenes throughout the years. He spent nine years touring with celebrated Irish vocalist Cathie Ryan, and has worked with many other singer/songwriters, including Richard Shindell, Tommy Sands, Susan McKeown, and Dave Moore, as well as accompanied many instrumental stalwarts in different genres, ranging from Steeleye Span fiddler Peter Knight and Irish accordion great James Keane, to former Shakti violinist L. Shankar, among countless others.

Having also spent years in the ‘downtown’ NY music scenes, he has worked with a variety of artists in rock, jazz, and contemporary music. He was bassist with the avant-rock group Doctor Nerve (with whom he recorded 8 albums and toured throughout the world), played varied instruments with Grammy-winning klezmer-jazz band The Klezmatics (accompanying them on tours with Itzhak Perlman), and played with other artists as varied as US Poet Laureate Billy Collins and classical percussionist Evelyn Glennie. In the 1980s, he played bass and keyboards in the seminal post-punk new wave band ibm, and in the 1990s co-founded (with Lisa Gutkin) the acclaimed NYC celtic-world fusion group Whirligig.

Also a much sought after producer and arranger, he is a recognized expert at the blending of traditional and world musics with contemporary sounds and production values, and has produced albums for many of these same artists, along with dozens of others.
